Nothing to install

Chrome or Edge · records the meeting tab’s audio and your microphone. Not a single frame of your screen is captured.

Closing the tab stops the recording on the spot. If you need “not a second lost”, use the desktop app.

The browser asks you to pick the tab every time you start a meeting — it cannot remember this permission.

Browser extension

Capture the meeting audio in your browser tab, with transcript and follow-ups in MLOG.

While recording, every audio segment is written to the browser’s local storage before it is uploaded, and segments already written are not lost. But the browser can end the capture at any time — closing the tab or the browser, the extension being updated or disabled, or the system going to sleep all stop the recording, and the segment still being gathered (up to 5 seconds) goes with it.

Records your microphone. When you join from the phone, what gets captured is your side of the call.

Set up macOS permissions in three steps

MLOG never sends a bot into your call — it listens to this computer directly, which needs two macOS permissions. Under a minute, one-time setup.

Step 1

Allow microphone access

On first launch macOS shows this request. Click “Allow” — this is your side of the conversation, and audio is encrypted to this Mac before any processing.

Step 2

Turn on Screen Recording

System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording, then switch MLOG on. macOS delivers system audio (the other side’s voice) through this permission — MLOG never captures or uploads your screen.

Step 3

Verify with a 10-second test

Back in MLOG, run a test take. When the amber badge lights up in the menu bar and both channel meters move, you are set. It keeps recording offline — local-first, processed once you reconnect.

On Windows no screen-recording permission is needed — MLOG is ready right after install.

Quietly up to date

Updates yield to meetings: they never interrupt a recording in progress and never touch your local data.

Update checks

MLOG checks for new versions and downloads them in the background, then tells you it's ready — you decide when to install, so nothing restarts in the middle of a meeting. You can turn the background download off in Settings. Updates never touch your local recordings or minutes.

Release cadence

One feature release per month; security fixes ship immediately. Every update comes with plain-language release notes.

Code signing

The macOS installer is signed and notarized by Apple — it opens with a double-click. The Windows installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen warns once; each download button says exactly what your system will ask.
